This morning you will be picked up by your guide and driver. Drive to the Bach Dang Pier where you will board your Blue Cruiser boat for the 1,5 hour trip to Cu Chi district and the opportunity to visit the tunnels. During the Vietnam war the National Liberation Front dug out an extensive tunnel complex that served as a sanctuary in the fight against American forces. Part of the complex has been left in its original state. You can crawl through these tunnels, a harrowing experience indeed.
Visit the nearby Wildlife at Risk Rescue Center. Wildlife At Risk (WAR) is dedicated to protecting the biodiversity of Vietnam by combating the illegal wildlife trade, raising environmental awareness and promoting the conservation of endangered species and their habitats.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City by bus. Afternoon visits to selected sights in Ho Chi Minh City; joining those who had chosen not to go to Cu Chi and WAR.
Welcome cocktails and canapes on the roof terrace of the Majestic Hotel.
Dinner at a traditional barbecue restaurant.

In the early morning we set off for a sunrise cruise and breakfast.
We next transfer to sampans to visit Cai Rang market, one of the most lively floating markets in the Delta. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of vendors and their small boats laden with fruits. We will pull up to the merchants for talking and bargaining. Boat through the green water landscape to see local houses, verdant orchards and ship-building yards. The boat trip ends at around noon at Ninh Kieu pier in Cantho.

Hoi An, Faifo in antiquity, is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading post dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site.
Morning visit to tailor shops and historic buildings in Hoi An before lunch. Visit My Son in the afternoon with former director Professor Ky. My Son was the religious and political capital of the Champa Kingdom for most of its existence. The My Son temple complex is regarded as one of the foremost Hindu temple in Southeast Asia and has been recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

Drive from Hoi An to Hue over the Hai Van Pass.
Optional: for those who are interested this trip can be done by train.
Train departs from Danang railway station at 08:29 and arrives in Hue at 11:58.
You will be met upon arrival at the station and rejoin the rest of the group for lunch.

Afternoon visit of the Forbidden Purple City.

Early morning free to visit the Dong Ba market on your own.

Drive from the airport to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology where we will received by Dr. Nguyen Van Huy, the director and General Secretary of the Vietnam Ethnology Association.
Transfer to the hotel.

Departure from the hotel at 07:30. Drive to Hoa Lu near Ninh Binh. Hoa Lu was the capital of an ancient Vietnamese kingdom called Dai Co Viet. We visit the remaining two temples: the Dinh Tien Hoang Temple and Le Hoan Temple, dedicated to the founder of the Dinh Dynasty and to his successor. Those who are willing and able to climb some two hundred steps can visit an upper temple. Drive to Tam Coc (Three Grottos) for a short rest and lunch at a local restaurant before transfer to small rowing boats to travel through the caves.

After lunch, one can bicycle along village roads, through beautiful scenery, and arrive at Bich Dong Cave. Those who don't want to cycle can follow in the bus.
Climb a short way up into the Ngu Hanh Son Mountain range and enjoy the magnificent scenery offered by the picturesque karst mountains, rivers and pagodas.  The king conferred on Bich Dong the title "The second most beautiful grotto in Vietnam".
Return to Hanoi arriving at approximately 18:30.

Lao Cai - Sapa

First you will have breakfast in a local restaurant in Lao Cai.
before driving to Bac Ha to visit the weekly Sunday market.
This is the most popular market of Northern Vietnam because it is frequented by minorities from across Lao Cai Province. It's a colorful spectacle.
Lunch will at the Sao Mai Hotel.
In the afternoon you will drive to Sapa.
Dinner in a downtown restaurant.
Overnight The Victoria Sapa Resort and Spa - Sapa.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Coc Ly.
Boat trip on Chay River to Bao Nhai - visit hill tribe villages of Nung, H'Mong, and Zao people on the way. Picnic lunch.
Drive to Lao Cai.
Dinner before boarding the train.
The train departs Lao Cai at 21:00 (time is subject to change).

After breakfast cruise to the bay's most untouched areas. Visit water tunnels and fishing villages.
