KLM Royal Dutch Airlines : Volcanic eruption in Iceland

KLM “does her utmost” to bring the stranded passengers back home

As of Thursday, KLM operates their complete Intercontinental- and, almost all, European schedule. Next to that a program will be launched, together with our Sky Team partners, to operate a large number of extra flights. Within our complete network, we will adjust our fleet planning to be sure that we provide the largest capacity to those destinations where most of the stranded passengers are located.
After days of a complete stand-still of our operation, there is a backlog in transporting passengers, while already new passengers show up for their booked flights which are scheduled right now.

“In the last couple of days, we have put all our effort in resuming our network, we will now put all our effort (together with our dedicated staff and partners), to “do our utmost” to bring back home our passengers.

We are happy to announce the following additional flights:

- A daily extra flight to Hong Kong, from Saturday 24th – Saturday May 1st;
- A daily extra flight to Singapore, from Saturday 24th – Saturday May 1st;
- One extra flight to Curacao on Friday April 23rd;
- An extra flight to Paramaribo on Saturday 24th, Monday 26th and Wednesday 28th;
- An extra flight to Curacao/Bonaire on Sunday 25th.

In addition to these extra flights, KLM will operate larger aircraft to Shanghai, Bangkok/Taipei, Dubai, San Francisco, Sao Paolo, Osaka, Cairo and Lima in the coming 10 days.
